Title: "Visibility Manifesting Itself Through The Desire For Invisibility"
Location: Venice Biennale 2015, Between China and Italy
"Hide Me ! Cache-Moi ! Спрячте Меня! I shouted running and hiding amongs visitors between Italy and China pavillions. I wanted to be invisible, but by really wanting it and screaming about it and trying to hide myself behind people's backs i was more visible than invisible. Everyone acknowledged me and tried to hide me. This manifesto came upon me, when i've visited Venice with IADA team to participate in Protagonists. The Invisible Pavilion of Kazakhstan . I've realised how invisible Kazakhstan and Central Asia is in the ArtWorld. Do we, artists of Central Asia want to be hidden or visible? What are the benefits of the rest of the world from acknowledging our works? "- Aza Shadenova
